1999 - Old Florida
Festival
This
year was very exiting.
We had approximately 7500 visitors to the festival, the best
attendance yet. Hopefully, now we can fund the Museum Express for
two years! Thank you everyone for making this event the best ever.

For the past ten years, the Friends of the Collier County Museum
have been taking visitors back in time to 1565, 1776, 1898
and a dozen different destinations in Southwest Florida's exciting past.
At the OLD FLORIDA
FESTIVAL held each November, history literally comes alive as costumed
interpreters, historical reenactors, period vendors, craft workers and
folk musicians gather at the Museum for two full days to recreate 400
years of everyday life on the Florida
frontier. This is highly imaginative and creative program is the
Museum's oldest and best known cultural
event and offers an enjoyable, shared learning experience for
families, school children and visitors of all ages and interests.

1998 - Swamp
Buggys-"Now and Then".
Take a look at this years Swamp Buggy Showcase. Featuring old time
original "restored" Buggies all the way up to today's high
performance racing buggy. These are definitely a unique
form of transportation.

1998 Spanish
American War
To commemorate the lOOth Anniversary of the Spanish-American War the
Collier County Museum announces the opening of a special exhibit, One
Correspondent's War.
