some past exhibits. November 1, 2000- November 1, 2001 Museum of the Everglades, Everglades City, FL - Crackers in the Glades: The Life, Art and Writings of Rob Storter, Everglade Pioneer. Comprehensive exhibition of the works of Rob Storter, artist, storyteller and fishing guide. Story of early life in Everglades and Naples told through carved boats, fish and birds, in drawings, paintings and photographs, and from person recollections.
January 20 - April 22, 2001 Collier County Museum - AS YOU WERE: A Salute to the warriors of World War II included a living history weekend, a 3,000sq. ft. exhibition, and specially selected speakers form various branches of the armed services. The weekend of January 20 & 21 featured a living history encampment of Allied soldiers and military vehicles. Despite the cool weather more than 3000 people attended the encampment and opening of the exhibit. More than 400 W.W. II veterans signed the roster indicating their years of service and Theater of operation. Approximately 4000 people viewed our exhibit during the first week. Here are some photos of people viewing the exhibit. The Museum will be open special weekend hours until April 20th. On Saturday and Sunday, the Museum will be open from 11:00 am. to 4:00 pm.
